The Encyclopedia of Milwaukee embraces student staff, both graduate students and undergraduates. One of our earliest undergraduate researchers was Danielle Eyre. Among her contributions to the project was the foundation of our image research process. While searching out images for the Encyclopedia, Danielle found a picture of something she called “baby hammocks,” a picture that captured her imagination. Four years later, Danielle is graduating from George Mason University with an MA in History and a capstone project that builds directly on her work in Milwaukee.
Because George Mason’s program specializes in digital history, you can explore her research on baby hammocks on a website she built to showcase her findings.
